SOUTH BEND - Diane M. Lewandowski, 62, passed away Saturday, in her residence. Surviving are two sons, Kevin (Kara Blumhardt) Lewandowski and Nick (Rasheeda) Lewandowski, both of South Bend; a grandson, Kaleb; two sisters, Carol Ann (Neil) Huffine of South Bend and Linda Fassler of Granger; and a brother, James Bagarus of Mishawaka. A memorial service will be celebrated at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Zahoran Funeral Home. Family and friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

SOUTH BEND - Diane M. Lewandowski, 62, passed away at 5 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2011 in her residence. Diane was born on January 16, 1949 in South Bend to Julius and Lorraine (Moskwinski) Bagarus. She graduated from Riley High School, played volleyball for the South Bend Challengers and modeled in Florida while in Art School. Diane was employed by Nyloncraft for 20 years and loved to go to the casino. On June 27, 1970 as Diane Bagarus she married Ronald Lewandowski, he died on September 14, 1997. Surviving are two sons, Kevin (Kara Blumhardt) Lewandowski and Nick (Rasheeda) Lewandowski both of South Bend; a grandson Kaleb; two sisters, Carol Ann (Neil) Huffine of South Bend and Linda Fassler of Granger; and a brother, James Bagarus of Mishawaka. Diane was a loving and devoted mother to her sons, Kevin and Nick, but the real love and joy of her life was her grandson, Kaleb. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Latrice, Dot, Scott and Bret for the exceptional care that was given to Diane during her many stays on the Oncology Floor at Memorial Hospital. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue, South Bend. Family and friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to defray funeral expenses.
