Dorothy Victoria Lesniak, 95 years old, passed away at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at The Acres of Indiana, New Carlisle, IN. Mrs. Lesniak was born on June 24, 1924 in Detroit, MI to the late Alexander and Victoria (Stanglewicz) Kemzura. She has resided in South Bend since 1968. On December 29, 1945 in Detroit, Dorothy and Thomas A. Lesniak were united in marriage. Tom preceded her in death on April 10, 2018. Mrs. Lesniak was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality. Dorothy was also the past President of the Elizabethian Ladies of the Knights of Columbus, where she awarded Lady of the Year. Mrs. Lesniak is survived by her daughter, Sharon Seal of South Bend; three sons, Jerry Lesniak of Southfield, MI, Steven (Jonelle) Lesniak of South Bend and Ralph Recker of Southfield, MI; two grandchildren, Peter (Cassie) Seal of North Liberty and Alexandra Lesniak of South Bend; and two great grandchildren, Finley and Oaklen Seal, both of North Liberty.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at the St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel is assisting the family.Memorial contributions in honor of Mrs. Lesniak may be donated to Hospice Foundation, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
