SOUTH BEND - Ann E. Megan, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of South Bend, passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2012, in North Port, FL. She was born in South Bend to the late Joseph G. and Anna (Preiczer) Nyikos on August 16, 1920. She moved to the Roseland area in 1950. On November 16, 1920, as Ann E. Nyikos, she married Robert Megan, who preceded her in death on July 6, 1997. Ann is survived by her daughter, Jill S. (Stan) Kucharski of Port Charlotte; her son, Michael A. (Francele) Megan of Port Charlotte; 5 grandchildren, Angie Kubiak, Julie (Joe) Regulinski, Janet (Bob) Kucharski, Richard (Chris) Clippinger and Tom (Ginger) Clippinger; 17 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, Brooke, Kasey, Grace, Zack, Candace, Cody, Rob, Jennifer, Jessica, Shelby, Dylan, Shannon, Tina, Brittney and Nicky; a sister-in-law, Kathy (Frank) Portolese; and by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Matt and his wife Lisa Clippinger on June 2, 2012; her sister, Diane Basker on July 14, 2003 and her brother-in-law, George Basker on November 29, 2006. Mrs. Megan was a parishioner of Christ the King Catholic Church. She worked for the voting polls in Roseland in the 1950s and 1960s. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 pm Sunday, September 16, 2012, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a vigil service will be held at 5 pm. A Funeral Mass for Ann will be celebrated Monday, September 17, 2012, at 10 am in Christ the King Church, 52473 SR 933, South Bend, with entombment to follow in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend.
