SOUTH BEND - Daniel Charles Dutrieux, 65, of South Bend, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012, at his home. Daniel was born Jan. 25, 1947, to Joseph and Marjorie (Emmons) Dutrieux in South Bend. On July 2, 1965, he married Vicki Frazier in Niles, Michigan. Surviving are his wife, Vicki; a daughter, Lori (Matt) Wilken of South Bend; two sons, Daniel Jaie (Kelly) Dutrieux and Christopher Frazier Dutrieux, both of South Bend; a brother, William Dutrieux of South Bend; a sister, Barbara (Tom) Lavelle of Granger; three grandchildren, Wolfgang Wilken, Jasmine Dutrieux and Jaielan Dutrieux, all of South Bend; a niece, Meredith (Jake) Waltenbaugh, and a nephew, Thomas (Anne) Lavelle, both of Pittsburgh, PA. Daniel was preceded in death by both his parents. He retired from the police department in 1973. After his retirement, Daniel enjoyed various activities such as fishing; he was a member of the F.O.P Lodge #36, President of Wagner Little League, member of the Air Force during the Vietnam War, was an avid Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Chicago Cubs fan, and enjoyed having lunch at his parents' house. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be sent to the family's home or memorial donations may be made to any local Hospice House in his name. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with arrangements.
