SOUTH BEND - Helen E. Dybala, 88, passed away at 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, February 19, 2011, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Helen was born on March 24, 1922, in Chicago, IL, to the late Frank and Mary (Misztal) Szymczyk. On September 21, 1946, she married Stanley Dybala, who passed away on October 6, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joan Stuglik. She is survived by her 22 nieces and nephews; and by her three sisters, Alice (Eugene) Szymczak of South Bend, Wanda Leets of Dowagiac, MI, and Evelyn Herman of South Bend; and by her brother, Ted Szymczyk of South Bend. Helen was a parishioner of St Adalbert Catholic Church. She was a member of the Polish Women's Alliance of America, and God and Country Society Group #305. Helen enjoyed holiday gatherings; she would go to her Busia's and they would make Chrusciki and Chiffon Cakes. She also enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She was proud of her roses. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 24, 2011, in ST JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 25, 2011. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
