Marlene J. Fezy, 71, of South Bend, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 10, in Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Ill.

Marlene was born July 6, 1933, in South Bend, to the late William and Martha (Wentland) Lezer, and was a lifelong area resident. On April 24, 1954, as Marlene J. Lezer, she married John S. Fezy, who preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1995.

Mrs. Fezy is survived by her son, John (Melissa) Fezy II of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; three grandchildren, John Stephen Fezy III, Lauren Fezy and Jared Fezy; and by a sister, Susan (Thomas) Owens of Willowbrook, Ill.

She was employed as a secretary for Plumbers and Pipe Fitters J.A.T.C. Mrs. Fezy was a former parishioner of St. Stephens Catholic Church, a parishioner St. Casimir Catholic Church, the president of St. Theresa Society Parish Council, past regent and held state office for the Daughters of Isabella, a member of the St. John the Baptist Altar and Rosary Society, the South Bend Civic and Democratic Club and the Knights of Columbus Wives.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Rosary will recited at 4 p.m. with the Daughters of Isabella. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 15, in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 3526 St. Johns Way, South Bend, with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend.
