SOUTH BEND - Margaret M. Wartha, 67, of South Gertrude Street, died at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital. She retired in 1986 from Bendix Corp. after 44 years of service. Born Nov. 28, 1924, in South Bend, she was a lifelong area resident. On Sept. 15, 1956, in South Bend, as Margaret Tschida, she married Anthony L. Wartha. He died Oct. 21, 1964. Surviving are a sister, Dorothy K. Van Paris of South Bend; and three brothers, Arthur M. Tschida and William J. Tschida, both of South Bend, and George L. Tschida of Laporte. She was a member of St. Mary's Altar and Rosary Society and Bendix Salaried Women's Club.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Zahoran Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m.
