South Bend - Shirley Ann Hardman, 83, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, August 4, 2018. Shirley was born August 2, 1935 in South Bend, to the late Leo P. and Verna (Harmacinski) Wroblewski. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Norbert, Alvin, & Thomas Wroblewski and sisters, Adeline Wroblewski & Gertrude Gadacz. On October 20, 1956, Shirley married her loving husband of 61 years, John Francis Hardman; he survives along with their children, Christopher (Ann) Hardman, Kathyrn (Jim) Henderson, Michael (Pam) Hardman, Lynne Hardman, Richard (Robin) Hardman; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and many dear nieces and nephews. Shirley retired from University of Notre Dame after 40 years at Corby Hall. She was a parishioner of St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church. Shirley collected dolls, enjoyed playing euchre and other games, gardening, her pool, and traveling. She loved teaching her children how to cook, and specialized in Polish food. Shirley also loved spending time with her grandchildren, children and other family members; she treasured her family.
