SOUTH BEND - Raymond E. Sebelski, 95 passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 in his home. Ray was born on September 3, 1922 to the late Leo and Valentina (Bojarski) Przybylski. and grew up in the South Bend area. On October 18, 1947 he married Rose Andert who survives. Together they celebrated 70 years of marriage this year. Also surviving are his children Ron (Kathy) Sebelski of St. Cloud, FL and Maria (John) Toth of South Bend, 4 grandsons Bob, Robert, Shawn, and Ronnie, a great grandson Tyler, brother Leo (Joyce) Sebelski of Blue Springs, MO, brother-in-law William (Caroline) Andert of South Bend and sister-in-law Vera “Toots” Andert of South Bend. He was preceded in death by his sisters Lucille VerBerkmoes, Adeline Galvas, and Dorothy Moorman. Ray honorably served his country in the United States Army 52nd Engineers during WWII. He was a Purple Heart recipient. He retired from Sibley Foundry, was a member of the DFV German Club and his passion for gardening was his great joy. Ray was also a member of St. Adalbert's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm Friday, December 29, 2017 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial with military services will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may gather from 10:30am - 12:30pm in the Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Adalbert's Church or the Veterans Administration.
