MISHAWAKA - Doris J. Pajakowski, 86, of Michiana Health and Rehabilitation in Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 9:20 a.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. She was born on June 17, 1925, to the late William H. and Grace A. (Crites) Eaton in Plymouth, IN, and had lived most of her life in the Michiana area. Along with her parents, five sisters, Donnabelle Weiler, Genevieve Beckner, Betty Carpenter, Rowena Leer, Mary Lou Abram; and four brothers, Charles, William, Floyd and Robert Eaton, also preceded her in death. Ms. Pajakowski worked as a sales clerk at the former Gilbert's Men's Clothing Store in South Bend for over 40 years. Doris was formerly married to Robert C. Pajakowski, and they had three children who survive her, Susan Bybee of Mishawaka, IN, Debra Pajakowski of Mishawaka, IN, Michael (Elysse) Pajakowski of Granger, IN; four grandchildren, Jennifer Bybee, Craig, Lauren and Grace Pajakowski; one great-grandchild, Cole Sevy; one brother-in-law, Richard Beckner of Niles, MI; along with many nieces and nephews. Doris loved to play cards and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed eating out and spending time with her family. Her great-grandson Cole was the light of her life. Her family is very grateful for the kind and loving care Doris received while at Michiana Health and Rehabilitation. A memorial visitation will be held from 4-5 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2011, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN. Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2011, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend. Private burial will take place in Riverview Cemetery at a later date.
