Betty J. Reaker, 93, formerly of Mishawaka, IN, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022 in Avon, IN. She was born in Bremen, IN, on September 25, 1928 to the late Earl and Zulo (Stump) Bellman. On October 2, 1949, she married Robert Reaker who preceded her in death in August of 1986. She was a graduate of Bremen High School and remained a lifelong resident of the area. Betty retired as a bank teller from National City Bank after 30 years of service. Betty is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Michael) McNeely of Plainfield, IN, and son, Jay Reaker of Michigan; three grandchildren, Sarah (Jenn) Hempel, Hannah (Joshua) Mayo, Levi (Alivia) McNeely; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Hazel Miller, and brothers, Roy, Clarence, Harold and Glen Bellman. Betty was a strong woman of faith and active at Albright United Methodist Church. She will always be remembered for her hugs and coordinating their annual fish fry. She enjoyed making ceramics, collecting teacups and baking banana bread for friends and family. Funeral services for Betty will be held at 1:00p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 at Palmer Funeral Home - Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, IN. Friends may visit with family from 11:00a.m.-1:00p.m. before the service. Graveside services and burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN. Memorial contributions in Betty’s honor may be made to Albright United Methodist Church, 504 W. Mishawaka Ave, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
