Frank S. Pietrzak , 84, of Topsfield Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 8:10 p.m. Friday, April 9, in Healthwin Specialized Care. He was born on Sept. 27, 1919, in Chicago, Ill. On Feb. 17, 1973, he married Nancy Collins. Then later Frank and Nancy renewed their vows at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Notre Dame. Frank retired in 1985 from A.M. General where he had worked in management. He was a member of The Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Notre Dame, of the Elks #235, and Knights of Columbus. Frank loved his family very much and will be remembered as an avid golfer. Frank's family would like to thanks to the entire staff at Healthwin for the wonderful care he received while there. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy; three stepdaughters, Dianne S. (Jerry) Tibone of Niles, Mich., Beth (Mike) Klajbor of Conyers, Ga., and Janis (Walter) Galvas of Dayton, Ohio; five grandchildren, Benjamin Rast, Ryan Klajbor, Allison Klajbor, Christian Galvas and Alex Galvas; and two great-grandchildren, Justin Klajbor and Meredith Klajbor; nieces and nephews, Bill Pietrzak Jr., Roberta Wald, George Pietrzak and Judy Pietrzak , all of Chicago. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 12, in Notre Dame Sacred Heart Parish Crypt, with the Rev. John Patrick Riley, CSC, officiating. Interment of cremains will take place at a later date at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame. The Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., South Bend, are in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Basilica of the Sacred Heart at Notre Dame. Published in the South Bend Tribune; April 11, 2004.
