SOUTH BEND -- Andrew C. Dezamitz, 90, of 451 S. Chicago St., died at 12:25 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 26, 2004) at St. Joseph Care Center in South Bend. He was born Nov. 5, 1913, in South Bend to George and Elizabeth (Herniecz) Dezamitz. He married Elizabeth R. Pinter on Aug. 10, 1940, in South Bend. She survives with one daughter, Judith (Richard) Barner Sr. of Osceola; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, George, John and Lewis Dezamitz and Eugene Barany, and one sister, Anna Nijak. There will be no visitation. The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola. The Rev. Donald Carroll of Osceola Church of the Brethren will officiate. Zimmerman-Inman Funeral Home in Osceola is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Dezamitz retired in 1981 from Rink Riverside Printing in South Bend, where he worked as a printer. He was a member of the Polish National Alliance and enjoyed reading.Memorials may be given to Hospice of St. Joseph County, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
