Stanley Gotowka
Stanley (Sarge) Gotowka, 80, of the Morningside Hotel, died at 8 a.m. Sunday in Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Gotowka was a retired U.S. Army staff sergeant. Born April 19, 1894, in West Falls, Germany, he had lived here most of his life, coming from Germany. Surviving are a nephew, Leo Gotowaka, and two nieces, Mrs. Esther Homeleski and Mrs. Lorraine Wilson, all of South Bend. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Joseph Funeral Home. Rev. Philip Corbett of Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today in the funeral home. He was a member of Chapter 6, Disabled American Veterans, and Pulaski Post 357, American Legion.
