NORTH LIBERTY - Faye Eloise Mangus, 97, of North Liberty, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, November 12, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Nancy, in Brownsburg, IN. Mrs. Mangus was born on July 15, 1916, in LaPaz, IN, to Clyde and Laura (Ranstead) Reed. Her parents, along with her brother, John Reed, preceded in death as the result of the flu epidemic of 1919. She was raised by her adoptive parents, Joe and Laura Steele, who also preceded in death. On January 28, 1939, she married John Ruskin Mangus, who passed away on November 25, 1980. Herman Reed, her brother, passed away in 1999. Mrs. Mangus was a lifelong resident of Walkerton and North Liberty. She was a school teacher at the North Liberty Schools for over 35 years. She was a faithful member of the North Liberty United Methodist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution. Mrs. Mangus is survived by two daughters, Nancy F. Nielsen of Brownsburg, IN, and Mary Jo Blount of Huntsville, AL; three grandchildren, Kim Noel Adkisson, Laura Jo Cashon and Eric John Nielsen; and three great-grandchildren, Kelly, Ross and Trey Cashon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013, at the North Liberty United Methodist Church, 103 S. Main Street, North Liberty. Rev. Ernie Troxell will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Eastlawn Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, November 15th, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main Street, North Liberty, and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Contributions in memory of Faye E. Mangus may be donated to the North Liberty United Methodist Church, P.O.
