Bishop Rev. Worthy G. Rowe, 81, residing on Inwood Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away of natural causes at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Rev. Rowe served as pastor of Apostolic Temple, South Bend, for 35 years. He had been pastor emeritus for the past 16 years. Rev. Rowe was the founder, chairman and chairman emeritus of the Apostolic World Christian Fellowship established in 1969. He also worked as an engineer for U.S. Rubber in Mishawaka, Ind., for 20 years. Rev. Rowe was born on March 9, 1920, in Mishawaka, to the late Glen Beecher and Verbia (Zimmerman) Rowe. He had been a lifelong area resident. One sister, Wreatha Proctor, also preceded her brother in death. On Sept. 8, 1940, in Mishawaka, he married Marjorie Foerster, who survives. Along with his wife, Marjorie, of 60 years, survivors include three sons, Worthy Glen (Colleen) Rowe of South Bend, Rev. Peter (Melodie) Rowe and Rev. Paul (Deborah) Rowe, both of Mishawaka; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Enid (Don) Martz and Rachel (Lester) Shindledecker, both of Mishawaka, and Faith Barnaby of Philadelphia, Pa.; and a brother, Rev. David (Mary) Rowe of South Bend.

Funeral services for Bishop Rev. Worthy G. Rowe will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 31, in Apostolic Temple, 2221 S. Ironwood, South Bend. Graveside services and burial will follow at the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Osceola, Ind.

Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. today, March 30, in the Apostolic Temple, South Bend, and one hour prior to services in the church on Saturday.
