MISHAWAKA - Stephen P. Pecsi, 83, of Mishawaka, died at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2008, in Our Lady of Peace Hospital in South Bend after an illness. He was born in South Bend on May 12, 1925, to John & Mary (Palfi) Pecsi. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, three brothers and his first wife Dorothy (Bella) after forty-one years of marriage. Surviving Stephen are his wife Shirley, whom he married on July 19, 1997; son Chris Pecsi of California; stepdaughter, Cynthia (Edward) Bonczynski of South Bend; stepson, Michael (Amy) Haun of Granger; five grandchildren, Edward III, Jessica, Meisha, Madison and Brady. He had been employed at ADT Security as a salesman and also as a custodian with Penn Harris Madison School Corporation. He served his country during WWII in the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1946. He belonged to VFW Post #360 and he attended First Christian Church in Mishawaka.
