SOUTH BEND - Lucille B. Krakowski, 98, passed away at 11:00 am, Sunday, November 16, 2014 in Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton. Lucille was born July 5, 1916 in South Bend to the late Adam and Mary (Rydzinski) Bartkiewicz. On June 10, 1942, Lucille married Edmund Krakowski; he preceded her in death on May 3, 1987. Lucille is also preceded in death by her step-mother, Harriett Bartkiewicz; a daughter, Marie Pluta; grandsons, Ronald Pluta and Jerome Krakowski; and great-granddaughter, Claire Krakowski. Survivors of Lucille include her son, Anthony (Antoinette) Krakowski; grandchildren, Joyce Pluta, Jennifer (Tom) Hupp, Eric (Brandi), Darren (Vicki), Nathan (Christa) and Marcus Krakowski; and great-grandchildren, Megan and Faith Hupp, James Pluta, Aidan and Nicholas Krakowski, Noah, Allison, Abigail, Ben, Lucy, and John Paul Krakowski, Anthony and Kolbe Krakowski. Lucille retired from Bendix in 1979. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Hungry Catholic Church, and a member of the St. Anne Society. Lucille enjoyed crafting, especially crocheting, solving word puzzles, and cooking family dinners. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Visitation for Lucille will be 10:30 am to 12:30 pm Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church, 829 W. Calvert St., South Bend, IN 46613 or American Diabetes Association , 115 S.
