MISHAWAKA - Jerome Grzeskowiak, 86, passed away Monday, November 8, 2010, in his residence. Jerome was born on May 27, 1924, in South Bend, to Harry and Rose (Przybylski) Grzeskowiak, who preceded him in death along with a brother, Robert Grzeskowiak. On August 13, 1949, Jerome married Virginia (Campoli) in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, who survives along with their daughter, Carol (Mark) Battersby of Mishawaka, grandson, Tyler Battersby of Mishawaka, and a sister, Dorothy Thomas of South Bend. Jerome was a veteran of WW II, serving in the European Theatre Artillery where he earned both the Silver and Bronze Star and has been a lifetime member of V.F.W. 360. He retired after 26 years as a tool-and-die maker for Raco and was a member of IBEW Local 913. He served as an usher for 50 years at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Nov. 11, 2010, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 12, 2010, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 S. Mill St., Mishawaka. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
