SOUTH BEND - Mrs. Genevieve J. Spychalski, 87, of New Carlisle, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, at 6:15 p.m. in Hamilton Communities, New Carlisle. She was born May 28, 1916, in South Bend to Stephan and Juliana (Wodlarek) Lyczynski. Mrs. Spychalski retired in 1979 as a cook from the South Bend School Corporation. She was a member of St. Casimir Catholic Church in South Bend. In 1937 in South Bend, she married Edwin Spychalski, who died in December 1976. Also preceding her in death were her parents, six sisters and five brothers. Surviving are three daughters, Nicolette Crane of Mill Creek, Julie Kurdys of South Bend and Becky Romary of Columbia City, Ind.; two sons, John of South Bend and Bruce of Petosky, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend. Friends may call today from 2 to 8 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 5 p.m. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend.
