SOUTH BEND - Gregory James Krawiec Sr., 63, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014, in the Memorial Hospital. Gregory was born February 28, 1951, in South Bend, to the late Stanley and Josephine (Dalkow-ski) Krawiec. Survivors of Gregory include his sons, Gregory J. (Kelli) Krawiec Jr. of Niles, Brian (Noelle) Krawiec of South Bend, and Daniel (Amie) Krawiec of South Bend; a brother, David Krawiec of New Carlisle; and 4 grandchildren, Kortni, Gavin, Aaron and Gage. Gregory honorably served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He retired in 2008 from Starlite Pizza where he was the owner and operator for 22 years. Gregory loved playing Polish music on the accordion and was a member of the Concertina Hall of Fame. He played in the band, Brass Sunset, for many years. Gregory enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he adored his dog, Molly. A public gathering for Gregory will be 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, September 5, 2014, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., where a Memorial Service will be celebrated at 7:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation , 911 E. 86th Street, Ste. 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
