From her obituary in June 20, 1918, North Liberty News, Mary Ann, daughter of Dr. Joseph and Charlotte O'Conner, came to the U.S. with her parents and only brother when she was 8 years old. She married Dennis Rupel on April 30, 1863. To this union, seven children were born, two preceded her in death. The surviving children are David, Chas., Byron, Effie and Emma. Burial in North Liberty cemetery.
