MICHIGAN CITY - Dolores Marie Bogenski, 89, of Michigan City, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015, at her home in Michigan City. Dolores was born on August 24, 1925, in Michigan City, to the late Walter & Bernice (Pawlik) Groch. Surviving are two children, Edward L. (Sandra) Bogenski of Shelbyville, Michigan, and Becky (Steve) Welham of South Bend, Indiana. Dolores was preceded in death by siblings, Frances Golombeck, Charlotte Kungis, Gabriel Groch, Marion Groch, Al Groch, Julian Groch, Freda Noveroske, Clem Groch, Genevieve Groch. Dolores was retired from Tonn and Blank as a secretary for 28 years of service. She then went to work for McDonald's on Franklin Street and worked there from 1989 - 2009. She also worked for Scholls Dairy and Tinkers Dam. She was a member of St. Stanislaus Church. She loved playing cards with friends; she affected a lot of people lives and she was a great mom and will be missed by all who knew her. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family and being with them. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, with Rev. Walter Ciesla officiating. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Viewing will be held today from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the Root Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited today, Thursday, at 6:30 p.m. at the Root Funeral Home. Published in South Bend Tribune on Jan. 22, 2015
