Protinica (Wife of Priest)Ljubica "Violet Radulavich was born in Yugoslovia - She married Djuro "George" Lazur Vuckovich on November 21, 1935 in Yugoslovia. They were the parents of three children - Maria (Michael Knezevich), Vera & Bezidar "Robert" while in Yugoslovia. George would serve in WW II - and was captured by the Germans and imprisioned. "Violet" was left to raise the children on her own till his release. They came to America - sailing from the Port of Naples - Feb. 7, 1950 - arriving in New York Feb 17, 1950 - going to Detroit - then Lancaster, PA before coming to South Bend, IN in 1955. In 1950 they became parents of a son - Michael Vuckovich. All the children resided in So.Bend. Very Rev. Vuckovich served SS. Peter & Paul Serbian Orthodox Church from 1955 till his passing - August 28, 1978. They are buried at Sacred Heart Cemetery in the Serbian Section. Nearby are their dear friends - the Knezevich Family - long-time parishioners. Their son - Michael had married Maria Vuckovich. He died in 1987 at Fifty three+ years. She survives.
