Mildred Dereng, age 92, of Menomonie, WI, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2004, at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie.
Mildred was born July 12, 1912, in Chicago to Leon and Antonina (Kuca) Wasilewski. She married Roman Dereng. They lived in Chicago and Indiana until they retired to Minnesota and Wisconsin. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and visiting with her friends and family.
She is survived by her son, Don (DiAnn) Dereng of Stewartville, Minn.; four grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a sister, Eleanor Spooner of Attleboro, Mass.; two brothers, Leonard Wasilewski of Knox, Ind., and George Wasil of Geneva, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roman, in 1993, parents, and a sister. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2004, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Menomonie. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Rhiel Funeral Service in Menomonie is handling arrangements.
