SOUTH BEND - Rose Ann Nowak, 66, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 1:10 a.m., Sunday, October 25, 2015 in Cardinal Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Rosie was born on May 5, 1949 in South Bend to Eugene and Delores (Slaybough) Nowak, and was a lifelong resident. She retired on June 30, 2005 from Ivy Tech State College, where she had been employed as a Library Assistant. Survivors include three sisters, Claire (Jim) Calentine of Elkhart, Indiana, Kitty (Tim) Peterson of South Bend, Indiana and Jeanni (Stanley) Kaminski of Rathdrum, Idaho; two brothers, Tom (Miriam) Nowak of Goshen, Indiana and Michael "Char" (Cassie ) Nowak of South Bend, Indiana; many cousins; many nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral Services will take place at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 29, 2015 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. A visitation will take place from 4:30 until 8:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home, where a rosary will be prayed at 8:00 p.m. Rosie was a 1967 graduate of Washington High School. She received her Associates Degree from Ivy Tech. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; crafts; watching television and movies.
