MISHAWAKA - Donald P. Ebling, 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2014 surrounded by his family Don was born on March 29, 1934 in Milwaukee, WI to Paul and Ann (Blasczyk) Ebling. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mary Ann Perry and Betty Burlingame and an infant son, Robert Ebling. On April 24, 1954 he married Frances Elaine Kline. Surviving are his wife, Frances; children, Mark (Deana) Ebling of Osceola, Carol (Thomas) Eichorst of Elkhart and Debra (Kenneth) Smith of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Amy DeLaurelle, Adam (Rebecca) Ebling, Michelle, Bryan (Morgan), Jessica (Derek Fike), Daniel, Timothy and Brittney Eichorst and Kendra Smith and great grandchildren, Joshua and Siyara, Trinity, Gage, Gavyn and Alexis. Don was a former employee of AM General and Krizman Automotive. He retired in 1995. He was also a Manager for Kosciusko Bowling Alley. Don moved to Mishawaka in 1943 where he attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated in 1952 from Mishawaka High School. He was a Korea and Vietnam Air Force Veteran retiring after 21 years of service. Don enjoyed fishing, camping and helping others when they needed anything. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka, VFW Post 360, American Legion Post 161 and the Air Force Sargent's Association. A Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 25 at 4:00 p.m. with visitation from 2 to 4 p.m., in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Rev. Terry Fisher of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka will officiate. Military Rites by VFW Post 360/American Legion 161 will be held at the funeral home In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Air Force Sargent Association or to American Cancer Society Great Lakes Division Northwest Indiana Office, 130 Red Coach Dr., Mishawaka, IN 46545.
