Bonnie L. Bowen, 85, of Mishawaka, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Bonnie was born March 23, 1936 in Bremen to the late Herbert and Edith (Summy) Neher. She grew up in Bremen and was a graduate of Bremen High School. On September 28, 1958, Bonnie married Robert “Bob” E. Bowen in South Bend. The couple made Mishawaka their home. Bonnie was the ultimate homemaker who enjoyed cooking. Her family was the center of her life. Bonnie was a devoted mom to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always busy with many family activities. Bonnie is survived by her two children, Robert A. (Anita) Bowen and Kristi J. (Steve) Miller; a brother, Allen (Vicki) Neher; five grandchildren, Sarah Bowen, Andrew Bowen, Tyler (Kaitlin) Kocsis, Lindsey (Ryan) McFarland and Adam Briones; and eight great grandchildren, Jordan, Lillyana, Addison, Derek, Aubrey, Jason, Kaleb, Caroline and one more girl on the way. Bonnie was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Christman; and a brother, Donald Neher. Friends are invited to spend time with Bonnie’s family at a Memorial Gathering from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, December 15, in Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 W. 3rd Street, Mishawaka. A Memorial Service will begin at 8 pm Wednesday in the funeral home, with Pastor Bob Vale officiating.
