SOUTH BEND - Emily Marie Conway, 85, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Andre House at Holy Cross Village, Notre Dame, IN. Emily was born on June 1, 1932 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, to Simon and Mary (Sponauer) Marowski, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 8, 1968 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wilkes-Barre, Emily married Paul F. Conway, presently, professor emeritus at Mendoza College of Business, University of Notre Dame. In addition to her husband, Emily is also survived by daughter, Megan (Christopher) Hartz of South Bend; son, Paul Michael Conway of South Bend; six grandchildren, Eleanor, Peter, Adam, and Sophia Hartz, and Erin and Sydney Conway; sister, Catherine Prozeralik of Hanover, PA; and brother, Charles (Marian) Marowski of Kansas. In addition to her parents, Emily was preceded in death by grandson, Joseph Hartz, as well as sisters, Mary Gorski and Veronica Marowski. Emily received her B.A. from St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, MD, and her Master of Social Work from Fordham University in New York. Her work focused on children with special healthcare needs, such as spina bifida, C.P., cystic fibrosis, and other chronic illnesses. She received a Social Worker of the Year Award for the northern Indiana region. Emily also served as president and board member of the League of Women Voters for twenty years. She was a founding coordinator of the Ladies of Notre Dame and St. Mary's College UNICEF card and gift sale. Emily also served as a board member for the Ladies of Notre Dame as well as Catholic Charities USA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30 pm on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart on the campus of the University of Notre Dame. Graveside services and interment will follow at the mausoleum at Cedar Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 pm on Monday, February 26 at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Emily may be donated to Catholic Charities (1-800-919-9338 or PO Box 17066, Baltimore, MD 21297-1066); or Habitat for Humanity of St. Joseph County (402 E.
