MICHIGAN - Former South Bend, Ind., resident, Donald F. Borkowski, age 70, passed away on Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at his home in Montrose, Michigan. Donald was born in South Bend, Ind., on Jan. 7, 2005, to Adam and Henrietta (Sziglar) Borkowski, who preceded him in death along with a sister, Jo Ann Houck, and a brother, John Borkowski. Donald served his country in the United States Air Force. Donald retired in 1987 from Bendix where he was employed as an engineer. He was a former member of Holy Family Church and St. Patrick Church, both in South Bend, Ind. Donald was the wrestling coach in the mid 1970s for Holy Family School.He belonged to the American Legion Post No. 284. Donald greatly enjoyed fishing and loved to travel. Donald is survived by two sons: Brian (Janie) Borrows; Paul (Doreen) Borrows, all of South Bend, Ind.; two daughters: June (Scott) Stone burner, of Michigan; Cindy (Kevin) McGowan, of South Bend, Ind.; eight grandchildren: Ryan, Eric, Cory, Janna, Cutie, Nicole, Britannia, Kevin; one sister, Marcella Van Water, of Montrose, Colo.; a brother-in-law, Melvin Houck, of Greenville, of S.C.; as well as several nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Joseph Funeral Home, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, Ind., where a Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Church. Rite of committal will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery at South Bend, Ind. rrangements are being handled under the direction of St. Joseph Funeral Home of South Bend, Ind., (574) 288-4685.
