SOUTH BEND - Duane R. Radzikowski, 72, passed away at 7 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, in Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation. Duane was born on December 27, 1935, in South Bend, to the late Walter and Felicia (Dombeck) Radzikowski. He was preceded in death by his sister, Delores Squires. He is survived by two sons, Duane (Tracy) Radzikowski Jr. of Kankakee, IL, and David (Janet) Radzikowski of South Bend; four grandchildren, Krystal, Grant, Jacqueline and Garrett; two step-grandchildren, Victor and Joshua Apted; great-grandson, Zackery; his brother, Ervin Radzikowski of South Bend; and by his former wife, Phyllis Myers. Duane graduated from Central High School in 1956; he attended Ivy Tech South Bend Campus and Cameron College in Oklahoma City, OK. He served in the United States Army Artillery from 1958 to 1960, and retired after 31 years of service in 1994 as a South Bend fireman. He was a member of Eagles, South Bend, South Bend Arts Center and Holy Cross Catholic Church, and was a former member of the West Side Democratic Club and the International Firefighters Association.
