Patrick Heminger passed away at home March 20, 2023 with his devoted wife, Nancy, by his side. He was born June 17, 1942, to Edward and Eugenia (Szymczak) Heminger who both preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy; four children, Michael Heminger (Rachelle Fenster), Christine Heminger, Kathy (Jason ) Nitz, and Stephen Heminger; three grandchildren, Cody (Elise) Heminger, Amil Nitz and Aubryn Nitz. Patrick graduated from Edwardsburg High School in 1961. In 1962, he married Nancy Holmes. He retired in 2002 from AM General after 37 years. He loved his grandkids and taught Cody and Amil how to cast and ride a bike. He shared his love of music with his only granddaughter, Aubryn, whom he adored, by making her CDs to listen to. He loved music and had an extensive collection spanning wax cylinders through CDs and everything in between. He also collected humorous T-shirts, model trains and train memorabilia. He loved Looney Tunes. He loved his annual fishing trips to Canada with friends and family. His family would like to give special thanks to Hospice, especially Tammy, Dimonah, Elizabeth and Amber for their loving care. As per his wishes, he will be cremated with a celebration of life at the American Legion Post #303, 133 E. Mishawaka Ave., Mishawaka, IN from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Traditions Hospice. Palmer Funeral Homes - River Park Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
