Josephine M. Bozzo, age 82, of Elkhart passed away on Monday, November 29, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital. Josephine was born on March 12, 1939 to Albert and Virginia Bozzo in Elkhart, IN. Jo graduated from Elkhart Central High School class of 1957. She retired as a secretary from Miles Laboratories / Bayer Corporation. She enjoyed listening to good music, traveling to fun places, bowling and golfing with her friends and dancing. She would enjoy catching up with her friends every Wednesday for lunch. Her favorite time was spent with her family and friends. Jo is survived by her brother Jerry A. Bozzo of Elkhart, brother -in-law Santo DeRose of Toronto, Canada, sister-in-law Anna Marie Bozzo of Rochester, IN; her nieces and nephews Palmo (Marianna) DeRose, Theresa (Joe) Valente, twins James (Lena) DeRose, Kathy (Gary) Ingwersen, Mary Jean (Frank) Marrelli, Joseph (Anna) DeRose, Albert James Bozzo and Anthony Albert Bozzo, 15 great-nieces and nephews and 4 great-great nieces and nephews. Jo was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Elizabeth DeRose and her brother Robert L. Bozzo. Friends may visit with family 3-7 pm on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 56514 where the rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1331 North Main Street, Elkhart, IN 46514 with visitation one hour before mass. Fr. Jason Frieburger will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org Online condolences may be made to the family at www.stemmlawsonpeterson.com
