According to the 1900 federal census record, John Buczkowski was born in Poland and arrived in this country in 1882. His wife died sometime after the birth of their daughter Anna on Nov. 27, 1888 and before John's next marriage to Julia Taberski Wegenka on Nov. 8, 1892 at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church in South Bend, Indiana Their 1900 census household included two children from each of their previous marriages: John J. and Anna Buczkowski, and Sadie and Nora Wegenka. John's and Julia's children included Katie, Hattie, Michael, Mathew, and by 1910, Blanche and Mary Buczkowski. John and Julia Buczkowski's later census records have not been located. This memorial is an attempt to replace the memorial created by contributor #46558676 which inadvertently was deleted. Unfortunately, it is not known what all the original memorial may have included.
