Barbara J. Wojciechowski, 75, of 21st St. in South Bend, IN, died at 5:45am Wednesday, June 22, 2005 in Hospice House. She was born on November 21, 1929 to the late Floyd B. and Clara M. (Tuszynski) Wojciechowski in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with her parents; she was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Anne and Mary Louise Wojciechowski; and a brother, John Wojciechowski. Surviving sisters include, Therese (Daniel C.) Grocki of Mishawaka, IN; and Anne (Thomas E.) White of South Bend, IN. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a registered nurse, graduating from St. Joseph School of Nursing, South Bend. She was employed at The University of Notre Dame Student Health Center for 27 years, from which she retired in 1995. She formerly worked in the Emergency room at Memorial Hospital for 10 years. Barbara was a member of St. Anthony De Padua Parish in South Bend, The Harvest House, Coquillard Garden Club, Daughters of Isabella N.D.Circle No.572, Michiana Organ Club, and Busy Hands and the Tap Dancing Grannies. Barbara?s greatest loves were golf, playing the organ, painting, playing poker with her family, and her beautiful flower garden. She will be remembered as a loving sister and aunt. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 3:00pm Friday, June 24, 2005 in St. Anthony De Padua Catholic Church, with Rev. Terry Fisher officiating. Cremation will follow, with burial at a later date at St. Josephs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 24, 2005 in St. Anthony De Padua Catholic Church, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Anthony?s Parish, 2120 East Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, IN 46617 or The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
