Suzanne Watson, 83, passed away at 3:15 p.m. on Friday, October 22, 2021, in Trailpoint Village. Suzanne was born on July 3, 1938, in New York City to the late Leon and Nessie (Merrill) Levine. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Philip Merrill, her former husband Lloyd, and her younger daughter, ML Mahler. Suzanne is survived by her life partner James Cordas. Her five grandchildren and her daughter Diana live in Israel. Suzanne attended Bronx High School of Science. She married Lloyd Watson while at UW-Madison, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Suzanne’s two daughters, Diana Lee and Monica Lynn, were born in New York City. In 1965, the family moved to the North Side of Chicago. In 1970, Suzanne became the sole support of her two young daughters, teaching full-time on the South Side of Chicago, and going to school at night. Suzanne earned her teaching certificate, a Master’s in Psychology at DePaul University, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Northwestern. After working at Catholic Charities in Chicago, she moved to South Bend, first practicing at Madison Center, and later becoming an independent contractor with Family Learning Center. An avid bridge player, Suzanne enjoyed many games at the South Bend Bridge Club. She achieved the rank of Gold Life Master in June 2014. Cremation has taken place, Zoom-Only Burial Service Tuesday, Nov. 2, at 10:00 a.m. through Temple Beth-El at Rose Hill Cemetery.
