CULVER - Lucille Heiser, 99, passed away at 3:05 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Culver, IN. Lucille was born to Edwin and Grace (Boots) Poland on October 19, 1914 near Culver. She graduated from Culver High School in 1932. Lucille married her husband, Joseph Heiser of 69 years on January 30, 1938. They had two daughters, Sharon and Linda. Sharon married Ben Mevis of Plymouth, IN and they had four children. Linda married Jerry Cooper of Indianapolis and had three children. Lucille had thirteen great grandchildren. Lucille has one surviving sister, Pauline Berrigan of Frederick, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Heiser; two sisters and their husbands, Mildred & Eldon Ault, and Loa & Jacob Siple; brother-in-law, Edmund Berrigan; son-in-law, Ben Mevis; a granddaughter Janet Mevis and great grandson Jonas Mevis. Lucille and her husband Joe owned and operated Burr Oak Hardware near Culver for sixteen years, selling in December 1972. She was a member of Union Church of the Brethren (Plymouth) for 68 years. Visitation will be on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. as well as on Monday, May 5, 2014 from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at Odom Funeral Home, Culver. The funeral service will follow Monday's visitation. Interment will be in Culver Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be given to Union Church of the Brethren or Culver Union Township EMS. Condolences may be sent to the family via the obituary page at www.odomfuneralhome.com.
