SOUTH BEND - Betty L. Overhulser, 84, of South Bend, passed peacefully on Sunday, August 11, 2013, surrounded by family and close friends. She was born July 2, 1929, in Crown Point, to the late Edward and Joan (Flemming) Brechner. She was married on January 31, 1948, in Warsaw, to William E. Overhulser, who preceded her in death on June 19, 2007. Mrs. Overhulser is survived by her daughter, Terry (Bob) Andreone of Carmel; son-in-law, David Sills of South Bend; five grandchildren, Deanie (Art) Kopec, Casey Sills, Michael (Amanda) Andreone, Christie Andreone and Courtney (Ross) Kanzinger; four great-grandchildren, Madison and Emma Kopec, Kiala Jerzak and Ethan Kanzinger. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Maddy Sills; sisters, Ruby, Doris, Madelyn and Leona; and brothers, Gerald, Carl, Glen, Elmer, Chester, Fred and Ralph Brechner. Betty also leaves behind her loyal companion, J.T., a Schnauzer. Mrs. Overhulser retired from L.S. Ayres in 1990 after 17 years of service. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and friend and will be sorely missed. Visitation and services will be held at Southlawn United Methodist Church in South Bend on Thursday, August 15th. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 with funeral services beginning at 2:00. Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend, IN, is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff on the 7 South wing of Memorial Hospital for their exemplary care, compassion and support. Contributions in memory of Betty L.
