Everett Dean Adams, 70, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 12:00 a.m. Saturday, February 12, 2011 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka, IN. He was born on February 25, 1940 to the late Carl and Mable (Brinley) Adams in South Bend, IN. Everett “ Dean” Adams, a kind and gentle-spirited man, blessed us with his quiet grace for 70 years. Dean retired from AM General where he was an excellent mechanic and built demo Hummer engines. In his retirement years, he was a driver for CBS Medical Van Services. In 1966 he married Mary Ellen Sopczynski and was blessed with two wonderful children, Laura Bucks (Mike) and Matthew (Becky) and three grandaughters Katelyn, Natalie , and Sarah. Also surviving is his sister Carol Seach. He loved his cars both old and new and would work on them for hours on end. Dean loved his dogs, Sage and Bundles who now reside in pet heaven. Everett Dean Adams was my Grandfather. He was a giver, he always wanted to fix something or something to fix. All the appreciation he needed was the smiles on his family’s faces. He always brought that smile. His calm and mellow voice always made everything better. His genuine smile was so great to see, we will never forget it. I now believe he is up in Heaven watching us proudly as we stay so strong in such a hard time. We love you Grandpa Dean, always. - Natalie Adams Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 2:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Cremation will follow.
