Lucille M. Comegys, 84, of Niles, MI, passed away at 8:55 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2005, in Southfield Village, South Bend, IN.She was born on March 25, 1921, in South Bend, to Charles and Wayve (Butler) Griffin. On June 30, 1940, in South Bend, she married Jack Leland Comegys, who preceded her in death on June 1, 2002. Mrs. Comegys is survived by a son, Lyle, and his wife, Gail Comegys of Mishawaka; five grandchildren, Bryon Comegys of Indianapolis, IN, Rachel Main of Mishawaka, IN, Robin Comegys of Mishawaka, IN, Jeff Keiser of Lafayette, IN, and Scott Keiser of Covington, KY; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles (Kate) Griffin of Mishawaka, IN; a brother-in-law, Alvin Schenck of Indianapolis, IN; and a special friend, Jeri Niazi of South Bend, IN. Her parents and a sister, Joyce Schenck, preceded her in death. Mrs. Comegys had been a lifelong Michiana resident, graduating from Riley High School. She retired in 1969 from Bendix Corporation after 18 years of service. Mrs. Comegys loved to shop and enjoyed the neighborhood poker and bingo club in Florida. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2005, in Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN. Mr. Todd Lotridge will officiate. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2005, in the funeral home. Her life will be cherished and missed by all who knew her. Contributions in memory of Lucille M. Comegys may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
