SOUTH BEND - Frank J. Kruk, 94, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016, in the Grand Emerald Assisted Living.Frank was born October 3, 1921, in South Bend, to the late Joseph and Mary (Babicz) Kruk. On July 12, 1947, Frank married his loving wife, Delphine (Sroda) Kruk, who preceded him in death on November 24, 1994. Frank was also preceded in death by his brothers, John and Harry Kruk; sisters, Lillian Koszyk and Henrietta Drabecki; and his loving friend, Elizabeth Grzadziela of South Bend.Survivors of Frank include his children, Patricia (Donald “Opie”) Opaczewski of South Bend, Timothy Kruk of South Bend, and Cynthia (David) Hes of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Sabrina, Jennifer, David, Eric, Thomas, Shawn; and 8 great-grandchildren. Frank honorably served his country in the United States Army. He retired in 1988 from the Mastic Corporation after 41 years. He was a parishioner at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Frank was a member of the Army & Navy Union #146 and the South Bend Liberty Pigeon Club. He enjoyed racing pigeons, fishing and hunting. Visitation for Frank will be 3:00pm - 8:00pm Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd., with a Rosary to be prayed 4:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to visit from 8:45am - 9:30am in the funeral home before processing to the church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Thursday, April 14, 2016, in St. Casimir Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
