MISHAWAKA, IN - Margaret Welker-Wilson, 92, of Mishawaka, passed away at 8:00am on December 31, 2018 in South Bend, Indiana. She was born on February 20, 1926 in South Bend to Amel and Rose (Engle) Buldic both of whom preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Wilson. She is survived by her children: Calvin S. (Deb) Welker of Elkhart, Margaret R. (John V.) Leighton of Edwardsburg, Michigan, Jim N. (Jan) Welker of Goshen, Indiana, and Carol A. (Bill Schaefer) Welker. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. One sister, Alice Penney of Lapwai, Idaho also survives. Margaret owned and operated the Merrifield Barber Shop in Mishawaka for thirty-six years. She worked at Bercliff Industries before she became a barber. She attended John Adams High School in South Bend, loved her Chicago Cubs, and was an avid volleyball fan. She was also a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 12:00pm.Published in South Bend Tribune on Jan. 10, 2019
