SOUTH BEND - Luz Esther (Colon) Robles, 90, passed away on Monday, February 2,
2009, at 11:10 a.m. in her residence with her family by her side. Luz was born on
February 24, 1918, in Lares, Puerto Rico, to the late Juan and Maria DeLos Santos
(Acevedo) Colon. On January 1, 1941, in Lares, Puerto Rico, she married Agapito
Robles, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister,
Eloisa Colon-Cardona; and by her brother, Baldomero Colon. She is survived by her
two children, Maritza Robles of South Bend and Carlos (Debbie) Robles of Elkhart, IN;
seven grandchildren, Carlos M. (Ileana) Robles of AZ, Adrianna (Shawn) Brady of AZ,
Jose Robles of South Bend, Phillip (Amanda) Robles of South Bend, Chris (Monica)
Robles of South Bend, Imelda (Jamal) Robles-Henry of South Bend and Juan Robles of
South Bend; eight great-grandchildren; and by her three sisters, Teresa Colon
(Gilberto) Arvelo of Puerto Rico, Angela (Mario) Borelli of South Bend and Carmen
Colon of South Bend. Visitation will be today, February 4, 2009, from 4-8 p.m. in ST.
JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 5, 2009, at 10 a.m. in Little Flower Catholic Church, where friends and family may gather in the church one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame. Memorial contributions for the family may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637.
