South Bend - Joan C. Wagner, 84, passed away in her home Friday morning, July 15, 2022 surrounded by her family. Joan was born December 30, 1937 in South Bend, to the late Charles and Dorothy (Bukowski) Van De Voorde. Left to cherish the memory of Joan is her loving husband, Chuck Wagner; children, George W. Yahle (Susan Lapkiewicz), Lynn Edwards, stepson David (Karen) Wagner, sister, Christina Van De Voorde; sister in-law, Susan Pearman. Also surviving are multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Joan was a loving mother and wife, she cared more about others before herself. She and Chuck were married 34 years, and enjoyed spending time with each other - especially taking weekend trips to nearby lakes. Joan loved to go to the library with Chuck and they both would just fly through books together! Joan was an avid gardener and had a beautiful yard filled with gorgeous plants and flowers. She enjoyed baking and cooking for the family. She also loved doing crossword puzzles and was a fan of Jeopardy and Survivor. Joan was Chucks anchor and Chuck was her wings! Per Joan’s wishes there will not be any formal services. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. is assisting the family. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice care.
