ST. JOSEPH, MI - Harry Leo (Herschel) Rolnick, 101, of St. Joseph, passed away on February 2, 2019. He was born on December 29, 1917 to William (Zev) and Rose (Hannah Leah) nee Hirschovitz Rolnick in Chicago, IL. He was a long time member of Temple B'nai Shalom, Sinai Synagogue, and B'nai B'rith. Herschel entered the U.S. Army in March of 1941 anticipating a one year stint and remained in the Army for the entirety of World War II following Pearl Harbor. He returned from Japan in the Fall of 1945. Following the war he purchased an Army surplus truck and became an independent hauler, mainly of auto parts for recycling. He will be missed by the many friends who loved him so dearly. Graveside Services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at B'nai Sholom Cemetery, 1301 S. Crystal Ave., Benton Harbor, MI with Rabbi Michael Friedland officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to: Temple B'nai Shalom, 2050 Broadway, Benton Harbor, MI 49022; Sinai Synagogue, 1102 E.
