SOUTH BEND - Anthony Ruscio, 85, of South Bend, passed away at 11:10 a.m. Wednesday, October 29 in Regency Place Nursing Center after an extended illness. Mr. Ruscio was born on March 2, 1923 in Lowell, MA, and resided in the Michiana area his life time. On August 10, 1946 in South Bend, he married the former Natalie S. Simeri who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Mary G. (Ernie) Keresztes of South Bend; a son, Lewis A. Ruscio of South Bend; two loving grandchildren, Michael A. (Lourdes) Keresztes of New Braunfels, TX and Ernest B. (Lori) Keresztes, II of Ft. Wayne, IN; four wonderful loving great-grandchildren, Julia Grace, Danielle Ann, Ethan M. and Noah A. Keresztes. Mr. Ruscio was preceded in death by a brother, Harold "Babe" Ruscio and a niece, Pam Ruscio. Anthony was a graduate of South Bend Central High School class of 1942 where he played football and was president of the Chess & Checker Club. He loved Ping Pong, was an avid Notre Dame Football fan, loved horse racing and loved the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox. He retired from Bendix Corporation in South Bend after 30 years of service. He was also a World War II Army veteran serving during the Battle of the Bulge. He was also a member of the UAW Local 9. Visitation hours will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday Nov. 2 in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest chapel" funeral Home located at West Ireland Road/Ind. 23 South Bend. A Memorial services will take place at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. The family request, PLEASE, no flowers. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extended its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Ruscio Family.
