SOUTH BEND - Harriet M. Toth, 104, passed away on Saturday, August 6, in the Sanctuary at Holy Cross, South Bend. Harriet was born on October 21, 1906, in New Castle, IN, to the late Clinton V. and Iva Nella (Thorpe) Ball. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters. On September 19, 1931, in Mishawaka, as Harriet Ball, she married John M. Toth, who preceded her in death on February 2, 1998. Surviving are a son, John Toth of Hampton, VA; a daughter, Sharon Wilson of Marion, IN; three grandchildren, Anne BeMiller of Mishawaka, Janice (Steven) Berreth of Granger and Chris Wilson of Marion, IN; and two great-grandchildren, Rod and Chad BeMiller. Harriet was a member of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She enjoyed attending her church and reading. She also wintered in Florida.Visitation for Harriet will be on Monday, August 15, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., with funeral services at 12 p.m. in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, with Rev. Patrick Somers officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, John. Memorial contributions may be made to Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, 114 N. Ironwood, South Bend, IN 46615.
