SOUTH BEND - Janice K. (Podemski) Borton, 66, passed away 2:00 AM Friday, October 4, 2013 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. She was a resident of Golden Living Center-Fountainview Nursing Home. Janice was born on April 16, 1947 in South Bend to the late Walter and Alice (Nadolny) Podemski and has remained a lifelong resident of this area. On November 20, 1965 in South Bend, she was united in marriage to Merle R. Borton, who survives. Janice worked as a dental hygienist for many years in several offices throughout this area. She was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, South Bend, where she was part of the Rosary Society and sang in the church choir. Janice is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Merle R. Borton of South Bend; one daughter, Korin M. Epps of Chicago, IL; three sons, Wayne E. (Christy) Borton of Greenville, NC, Scott C. (Denise) Borton and Martin L. (Naomi) Borton, both of South Bend; ten grandchildren; and sister, Susan (Charlie Perkins) Podemski of GA. She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Joseph Podemski. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM Monday, October 7, 2013 at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, South Bend, IN.. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Rd., South Bend, where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 PM. Friends may also visit one half-hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2120 E.
