SOUTH BEND - Eugene J. Staszewski, 52, of Fort Wayne, formerly of South Bend, died at 4 a.m. Monday in his home after an illness. Mr. Staszewski was employed by Calumet Construction Co., Fort Wayne. He was born Feb. 17, 1943, in South Bend. On Jan. 21, 1967, in South Bend, he married Carol Budzinski. She survives with three sons, Jim of Pasadena, Calif., Steve of Indianapolis, and Rob at home; his mother, Violet Staszewski of South Bend; and a sister, Pat Szalewski of South Bend. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 5570. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Allen County, 1315 Directors Row, Fort Wayne, IN 46808.
