SOUTH BEND - Ollie E. Knudson, 88, passed away at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Ollie was born on June 8, 1919, in South Bend, to the late Ollie and Stella (Wojahowski) Knudson. On April 23, 1949, he married Mary (Andrysiak, who survives. Ollie was a T-Sergeant in the United States Air Force, where he performed 31 missions while in service. He also flew shuttles in the Pacific after his tour of duty. He was a supervisor at South Bend Lathe, and was a member of VFW 3820 and the American Legion. Visitation will be today (Thursday, Feb. 28) from 2 to 6 p.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. MAYFLOWER ROAD, SOUTH BEND, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 29, in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. For those who are unable to attend the funeral liturgy, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
